How do I incorporate sources into my research project?

There are three ways to incorporate credible sources into your conference paper (see below). Remember to follow the most recent MLA guidelines and use sources carefully to

1) explain unique ideas, concepts, or theories that your audience may not readily understand

and

2) always support your main thesis.

Below are the three ways to incorporate credible sources into your conference paper; I recommend using all three ways in your conference paper:

  1. Summarizing–be brief
  2. Paraphrasing–put it in your own words
  3. Direct quotes–use sparingly to prove your point and to show unique authority on a subject
